Foster Care Fortnight is an annual campaign which aims to raise awareness of fostering across the UK. Given the serious national shortage of foster carers, the campaign, delivered by leading fostering charity The Fostering Network, seeks to encourage more people to consider fostering.
The 2022 campaign will be more important than ever as it comes in the wake of the Covid pandemic and serious world events such as those which we have seen in Afghanistan and Ukraine. Fostering providers are facing extreme pressure to find loving homes for the vast number of children and young people who need them.
In past years, Eastern Fostering Services has embraced the campaign, providing lots of information to the public about the realities, rewards and challenges of fostering. Our foster carers have all got involved demonstrating the power of fostering communities which will form the theme for the 2022 Foster Care Fortnight campaign.
Over the last few years, we have looked at what fostering looks like, what it means to the carers and children and wider society.
