Some fun things to look forward to!

Choices for young voices:

If you are fostered by one of our families and you are over 11, you are very welcome to join our Choices for Young Voices group. The group is hosted by Sandra, and we meet in most school holidays. Our Director El joins in too and takes your views very seriously. The group gives you chance to have your say! And we truly value your opinions and ideas on.

  • What could we do better
  • What you think we are doing well
  • Ideas for new activities and fun days out
  • Advice and design ideas for tools that will help other children
  • Potential new foster parents’ answers to the children’s section of the application form

The group is very welcoming and supportive, and it gives you chance to spend time with each other, make some new friends and, of course, we will provide the pizza!

My Best Family Fosters:

If your parents are a fostering family, you are very welcome to join our My Best Family Fosters activity days. Being a Foster sibling is a important and special role and not only do we want to celebrate that, we also want to give you the chance to meet other foster siblings, form new friendships, have some fun and provide a safe space for you to share your thoughts and feelings and seek that extra support if it is needed. Our Young People’s Champion Sandra also offers individual chances to meet up if you want to have a chat, and she’ll generally pair that with a hot chocolate or a meal out!

Activity days and Summer Camp:

Our Children’s Champion Paul organises all our fantastic days out and we try and fit in as much as possible! We meet up every half term and several times during the summer holidays for a range of activities for the whole family to enjoy! From BBQ’s and games in Thetford Forest, to beach days, bowling, cinema trips and parties, to our two-night camp on Mersea Island every August, we hope there is something for everyone! These days are really good fun, a chance to meet up with friends that you’ve made and with the whole EFS team.
